At the Airstrip!

Teneille Thompson. Australia.

I have just recently arrived home from spending 2 months in Port St Johns, with most of that time spent at Sisonke school. I taught a few classes, cooked with the pre-schoolers, ran the tuck shop and just simply enjoyed the company of an inspiring group of teachers and students.

It is difficult to put such an amazing, life changing experience into words. The kids at Sisonke school are like no other kids you've ever met. They are all so full of life and so eager to learn and you can tell they truly love their school. The teachers are passionate, caring and wonderful at what they do! I loved learning about the ideas of Waldorf Education and think it’s a great way of teaching. The poems, drawings, songs and dances that are used to teach the children makes school both enjoyable and worthwhile for everyone.

I am so thankful for my time spent at Sisonke School and in Port St Johns and wish everyone there all the success and happiness that they deserve and I really hope to be back one day!
